AFLOAT: Santa Claus and a friend enjoy the sights du...
The Flamborough Santa Claus Parade committee is busy getting things in order for Santa’s arrival in Flamborough on Saturday, November 29. This is all achieved by a group of 10 core volunteers. On parade day, many friends and family members are called upon for various jobs, keeping this event running safely and smoothly.
Each year, the committee chooses a parade theme. This time around, it is “Through a child’s eyes.” We are currently setting up our panel of parade judges, and are asking the community to nominate someone who has made a difference in a child’s life – coaches, teachers, mentors, etc. We would like to give them the honor of serving as a parade judge. Please call Sharon at 905-689-7744.
The entries for the parade are coming in fast and furious at this time. If you require a tractor/trailer for your entry one will be provided for a small fee. Cut off date for those requiring vehicles provided by the parade committee will be November 19. All information regarding the parade, rules and regulations, registration, etc. can be found on our web site: www.flamboroughsantaclausparade.com .
All proceeds from non-profit group entries and vehicles supplied are in turn donated back to the community.
As in past years, the committee expects some 40,000 people to take in this event.
Nothing is more spectacular than a nighttime parade – and what a way to kick off the Christmas season.
