The Flamborough Business Directory and Community Guide is appealing to local shutterbugs to submit their best snapshot, which could land on the cover of the publication.
This year, the shot that will land the prime spot in the annual guide will be decided through a photography contest. The winner will be a photo taken within the boundaries of Flamborough, and could include a business or community event. The photographer with the winning shot will receive a $50 Boston Pizza gift certificate and their photo featured on the cover of the 2010 Flamborough Business Directory and Community Guide, along with a photo credit.
“This publication is a true partnership within our community, combining elements of Flamborough business and its wider social network through Flamborough Information and Community Services,” said Ted Lindsay, Flamborough Review’s advertising manager, who is thrilled to take community involvement in the production of the guide to a new level.
“By adding this component, I feel that we’re giving everyone an opportunity to make it a true community guide. As a whole, all aspects of the community are very proud of this publication,” he added.
To participate in this unique opportunity, photographers must submit their entries by Monday, March 1 at 5 p.m. Photos must be accompanied by the following information in order to be considered:
• Description of location
• When photograph was taken
• Photographer’s full name
• Names of any individuals featured in the photograph, including written permission to use their image.
All photos must be taken in Flamborough and submitted in a JPG, EPS or TIFF format with a 200 dpi resolution. Photos should measure between five and eight inches wide and shouldn’t lose quality when enlarged or reduced in size.
To enter the contest, please email entries, along with your name, address and telephone number to Lindsay at tlindsay@burlingtonpost.com or Robynne Jamieson at rjamieson@burlingtonpost.com. Photos saved on a digital storage device, including a CD, can be dropped off or mailed to the Flamborough Review office at 30 Main St. N. Box 20, Waterdown, ON, L0R 2H0.
