Al-Care Disaster Kleenup

Flamborough Review

• • • ADVERTORIAL • • •

When a major sewage backup struck Waterdown Lanes two months ago, owners Marlene and Don Hyatt wondered who to turn to for help. They didn’t have to look far to find a team of expert disaster cleanup specialists at Al-Care Disaster Kleenup, a local Fire/Flood Restoration Company.

The team responded quickly and efficiently to the distress call from the 5-pin bowling alley in the Village Plaza, using extensive dehumidification and air scrubbers to clean the entire bowling area before tackling complete reconstruction of the lanes, installing all new flooring and adding new drywall and fresh paint in some areas.

The family restoration company, owned by father and son, Allan and Jeff Heidbuurt, was THE ANSWER for the Hyatts. “They definitely live up to their name,” said Marlene, as she looked around the newly restored alley, which re-opened Monday for league play; the lanes will open to the general public next week.

“No words will describe what we walked into on September 4,” said Marlene as she recalled what she and her husband encountered after the sump-pump malfunction. “It attacked our senses,” she said of the widespread destruction of the bowling alley.

But swift action by Al-Care Disaster Kleenup saved the day for the longtime Waterdown business owners.

“They’ve done an awesome job,” Marlene reported, singling out the company’s project manager, Nathan Hughes, for doing “a wonderful job,” communicating freely with them throughout the project, patiently answering their many questions and significantly relieving their stress.

The Hyatts, who went through similar emergency situations when a city water main burst, flooding their alley about five years ago and - to a smaller degree - when a minor sewage back-up occurred a couple of years back, know the high level of anxiety that such experiences cause. But they’re completely satisfied with the response from Al-Care Disaster Kleenup.

“Compared to previous experiences, this was far and away the best of all experiences we have had in restoration work,” said Marlene.

Al-Care Disaster Kleenup, which has been serving the communities of Waterdown,  Hamilton,  Burlington, Oakville and Milton since 1983 (plus a second location in Mississauga since September 2011), offers 24-hour emergency cleanup for fire, flood and wind damage.

The company works with all insurance companies, Jeff said, while also noting, “not every water or fire damage situation needs to be an insurance claim.” In many situations, Al-Care can help homeowners manage a small cleanup without the involvement of an insurance company.

“In today’s insurance claims climate, there are opportunities for us to do emergency cleanup directly for property owners.  We are here to help them with the portion of the cleanup, drying, etc they can’t do themselves” he said. “OUR GOAL IS TO HELP you keep your property clean, dry and safe.”
