Submitted Photo 291891 Carlisle Family in Haiti IN HAITI: The van der Mark family of Carlisle, including mom Cheryl, dad Laurens and their children Teagan, Grayden and Brigley, were in Haiti lending a helping hand with the Mission of Hope organization when an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale caused devastating damage to the impoverish island. The family escaped injury and is currently assisting with earthquake relief efforts. The family is slated to return home in September 2010. Photo by Catherine O’Hara • Review 291897 WDHS Midget Girls Head to Playoffs GOLDEN GIRLS: The Waterdown District High School midget girls’ volleyball team finished first in the HWIAC tournament at WDHS on January 6. The team went undefeated, beating Westdale, Highland, and Churchill In the playoffs. The Grade 9 team won against HDCH in two games straight and defeated Highland in the finals to win the tournament. The team includes Chelsea Arsenault, Meghan Handy, Meghan Holmes, Jessica Irvine, Emma Jamieson, Sammy Lambert, Caitlin Laughlin, Brooke Phillips, Shantelle Matos, Meghan Riggs, Kaitlyn Seguin, and Anna Sibiga. The team is coached by Nicoleta Baciu, Chris Irving, and Chantal Renaud. The WDHS girls were scheduled to play in the HWIAC playoffs on Wednesday.
