Connon Nurseries gives back this festive season

Flamborough Review

Connon Nurseries is offering community organizations an opportunity to raise money during the festive season, with its second annual Helping You Grow Christmas fundraising initiative.

More than 80 schools, churches, dance studios, horticultural societies and community groups are already registered.

Until December 24, 10 per cent of everything purchased at the Dundas Street nursery by people associated with an organization will be donated back to the group. Someone need only mention the name of their organization at the time of purchase.

Everything is included, poinsettias, houseplants, Christmas trees, garlands, wreaths and boughs and more.

“The program is our way of saying thank you to our customers and giving back to the community,” said Connon’s Katherine Noble. “We have had very positive feedback from the organizations registered with the fundraiser.”

Many of the organizations are participating in their third fundraiser (last Christmas, Spring and this Christmas) and new organizations are signing up every new fundraiser, said Noble.

“We have organizations registered in Flamborough, Waterdown, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Dundas, Carlisle, Ancaster and Stoney Creek. The word is spreading.”

Connon’s debut Spring Fundraiser ran April 16 to June 16.
