AT PEACE: The Carpenter Hospice features a calm, ...

Spa boosts palliative care centre
News
May 16, 2008
Staff at Magnolia House are hoping to raise funds for The Carpenter Hospice in Burlington to help provide individuals in need of palliative care a warm and friendly setting.

Following the recent death of Colin Weston, the husband of the Main Street North salon's manager, Kimberly Weston, the staff felt compelled to organize a fundraiser to show their support for the Weston family as well as The Carpenter Hospice, where Colin passed away after a fast and intense battle with pancreatic cancer.

DONATION

On May 25 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Magnolia House Salon and Spa will donate the proceeds from specific services, such as manicures and pedicures, sugaring, massage therapy and select hair services, to The Carpenter Hospice.

Members of the community are encouraged to show their support by booking an appointment for these specific services on the day of the event.

A barbecue lunch will also help boost the Burlington-based palliative care centre.

The Carpenter Hospice provides live-in accommodations for its palliative residents as well as their family members and friends. The professional and compassionate staff and volunteers at the hospice are trained to have the special sensitivity needed to care for those about to take their last breath.

To book an appointment or for more information about the event, please call Magnolia House Salon and Spa at (905) 690-9759 or email info@magnoliahousespa.com.
