Early results put Sweet ahead

Early polls are good news for David Sweet, reports Mike Pearson from the Flamorough Hills Golf Club in Copetown.

About 40 supporters have arrived, and a cheer went up as early numbers were announced.

According to Pearson, Sweet scrutneers reported that the Conservative candidate has won four polls reporting so far, three of which he lost last time.

According to Elections Canada, Sweet has 46.2 per cent of the vote on the 10 polls that have reported so far, MacFarlane-VanderBeek has 30 per cent of the vote, NDP candidate Gordon Guyatt has 18.8 per cent of the vote and Green candidate Peter Ormond has 8.3 per cent.
