The Flamborough Sabres Tyke 2 team defeated Dundas rivals 6-1 on home ice, Tuesday. And if securing a win wasn’t enough, local NHL legend, Harry Howell, was there to drop the puck and watch the boys in action.
Scorers for the home team at Carlisle Arena included Zachary Dietz, assisted by Liam Passmore; Tyler Schaap, assisted by Ryan Dunne; Jadon Faulkner, assisted by Justin Thornhill and Liam Delmastro; and Ryan Riggs, assisted by Dunne and Schaap. Dunne also netted two unassisted goals for the Sabres.
Team coaches and managers also presented Howell with a cheque for the Danny Howell Memorial Fund following a recent Gatorade fundraising program. The Danny Howell Memorial scholarship is presented to one male and one female student at Waterdown District High School.
