THINK PINK: (Left to right) Marco Carnevale and Michelle Graham of TERRA Greenhouses, Sharon Wood of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation) and TERRA marketing manager Bill Bown look on as TERRA owner Jim Pepetone puts his signature on the 2007 donation to the CBCF.
Several thousand specially grown and labeled six-packs of annual bedding plants (Summer Sunshine Impatiens, Non-Stop Begonias and Geraniums) are currently available for $12.99 each - with 50 per cent of the revenues will be donated. In addition, TERRA Greenhouses staff will be making donations and corporately TERRA will match any funds donated.
The campaign kicked off on May 8 and will run until May 21.
"We are confident that together with our communities and staff we can make a significant contribution," noted Bill Bown marketing manager for TERRA Greenhouses.
All four TERRA retail locations (Waterdown, Burlington, Milton and Vaughan) will be participating in this program. In addition, several suppliers and media partners have joined TERRA in the effort to support breast cancer research and services. Honourary Co-chairman of Grow for the Cure and popular local talk radio personality Bill Kelly broadcasting a special three-hour show focusing on Breast Cancer form the Waterdown location yesterday (Thursday) to kick off the event.
Over the past two years, TERRA has raised more than $100,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. This year, said Bown, the company is aiming to add another $50,000.
