More than 200 neighbours, friends and family attended St. Lawrence Cement’s recent open house at Dufferin Aggregates’ Flamboro Quarry. The event also served as the official opening of the facility’s new processing plant.

Guests enjoyed breakfast, a magic show and a birds of prey demonstration. As well, a number of door prizes were handed out. Tours of the quarry were also conducted and visitors enjoyed checking out the equipment and health, safety and quality displays that were featured.

“Operational tours are an important part of open houses,” said Andrea Bourrie, property and resource manager for Dufferin Aggregates.

“During tours, guests have a chance to see first-hand how we make the material that goes into building schools, hospitals, roads and various other construction projects.

“We are extremely proud of our open-door policy and we encourage communication with neighbours and other stakeholders,” she added.
