HIT THE ROAD: Jason Braden’s business, RV Park & Go, offers...
With Waterdown’s development boom and limited parking space available in residential areas, RV Park & Go is the “latest concept and the first of its kind in Canada,” said Braden, owner and operations manager of the full-service parking facility.
Braden’s business concept not only addresses travelers’ need to park their recreational vehicles, its location – close to many of the province’s 400-series highways – is a great departure point for many vacationers.
“We have people that will take a one-hour holiday and we have people who will take a two-month holiday,” he said. “It’s a great destination for people to depart from.”
Providing short- and long-term parking, RV Park & Go can accommodate up to 400 vehicles and boats on its large, paved lot. While offering safe and secure parking is the company’s goal, Braden’s business also makes traveling easier for its customers.
Taking over the labour-intensive task of preparing a recreational vehicle for an upcoming trip, RV Park & Go ensures that vehicles are ready for the road. “We fuel and de-ice them,” said Braden. Servicing, including washing the vehicle inside and out, drawing the curtains closed and shutting off the required batteries, is also available upon a client’s return.
“What I love about it most is that people are happy. They are going away on holiday and they are coming back from holiday. To me, that’s great,” he said.
Although RV Park & Go has only been in business for about a year, the company has already attracted many travelers living overseas.
“It is quite a multi-cultural facility,” explained Braden, adding that clients from South Africa, England and Florida station their recreational vehicles at the RV Park & Go lot and rely on the company’s private transportation service to pick them up from the airport.
Helping draw attention to Braden’s innovative business is his father, Bill, owner and operator of Sun & Fun RV Centre.
“There is a seamless flow. We complement each other,” Braden explained of the relationship between both businesses.
Noting the site’s proximity to LaSalle Park Marina, Braden encourages boat owners to consider RV Park & Go as the optimal place to station their vessels.
While the charismatic 36-year-old businessman also operates a second RV Park & Go facility in Toronto, he aims to shine a special light on the Waterdown location. With the number of one-hour holidays on the rise, Braden described the Flamborough area as a community filled with exciting destinations, including conversation areas and fun attractions.
