Two Carlisle residents were arrested and charged by Halton Regional Police’s Integrated Drug, Gun and Gang Unit with drug possession and trafficking on Wednesday morning.
Shane Cooper, 41, and Susan Estey, also 41, were among the many individuals charged in Project Rounder, an in-depth, street-level investigation of multiple persons alleged to be involved in the trafficking of cocaine, marijuana and prescription medical in Burlington and Hamilton.
Cooper was charged with two counts of conspiracy to traffic, trafficking cocaine, two counts of trafficking marijuana, three counts of possession for the purpose (marijuana), two counts of possession for the purpose (cannabis resin), possession of cocaine, oxycodone and hydromorphone, and produce a controlled substance.
Estey was charged with possession for the purpose (marijuana), possession for the purpose (cannabis resin), possession of cocaine, oxycodone and hydromorphone, and produce a controlled substance.
Others charged include Burlington residents Elvis Dojcinovic, 40, Eric Law, 42, Michelle Pellerin, 31, Robert Swallow, 34, Robyn Barkhouse, 34, and Ken Garvin, 42, and 23-year-old Sarann Chann, of Hamilton.
The accused were slated to appear in Milton Provincial Court on June 26.
The five-month long investigation, according to police, wrapped up Wednesday when police executed early morning raids in Burlington and Hamilton.
Numerous officers, including those from Halton’s SST teams, investigations unit, tactical rescue and canine units, as well as officers with Hamilton’s drug unit, Ontario Provincial Police’s weapons enforcement and organized crime unit, took part in the raids.
Police executed 13 search warrants, laid more than 40 charges and seized money – roughly $100,000 in cash – and drugs, including pounds of marijuana, quantities of cocaine, hashish, psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and oxycodone.
Vehicles were also seized, including a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, a 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck, a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle, 2004 Dodge Ram and 2010 GMC pickup trucks.
