While residents are still digging their way out of Friday’s storm, the Hamilton Conservation Authority is looking to the near future. It believes there’s a potential for flooding and high water conditions in area watercourses over the course of the next several days.
Following the significant accumulation of snow – up to 30 cm, above freezing temperatures and precipitations are expected for Monday.
The milder weather and precipitation amounts of up to 12 mm could lead to increased flows and water levels in Hamilton streams, which can pose a significant hazard.
The Hamilton Conservation Authority is reminding residents to keep children and pets away from all area watercourses over the next two to four days.
