Man airlifted after serious Strabane crash

By Dianne Cornish, REVIEW STAFF

Brock Road North near 8th Concession Road West (Strabane Road) was closed for almost four hours today as Hamilton police investigated a serious two-vehicle collision that occurred about 10:10 a.m. at the intersection.

Cst. Debbie McGreal-Dinning, media relations officer with Hamilton Police Service, said a car and transport truck collided in the intersection, resulting in serious but non-life threatening injuries to the male driver of the car. McGreal-Dinning said firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate the man from the wreckage. He was then transported to Hamilton General Hospital by the air ambulance.

The identities of those involved in the collision are not available at this time. As yet, no charges have been laid, but could be pending subject to the results of the investigation.

McGreal-Dinning said police interviewed some witnesses who were at the scene at the time of collision. Brock Road was reopened shortly after 1:40 p. m.
