OLG reaches deal with eight gaming sites

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced Wednesday (Jan. 23) that it has reached agreements in principal for slot operations at several gaming sites across the province.

According to a release, the sites include Woodbine Racetrack, Mohawk Racetrack, Rideau Carleton Raceway, Hanover Raceway, Woodstock Raceway, Dresden Raceway, Sudbury Downs and Clinton Raceway.

Earlier Wednesday afternoon, the province announced it had reached an agreement in principle with Woodbine Entertainment Group for transition funding, which would allow Woodbine and Mohawk Racetracks to continue live horse racing for at least two years.

The OLG says it will continue negotiating lease agreements with other site holders and is hopeful deals can be reached with the operators.
