Hamilton Police responded to the area of Mill and Union streets in Waterdown Thursday night about 6 p.m, when a 17-year-old female driver lost control of her vehicle during a fresh snowfall, resulting in her car sliding and then flipping over onto its roof. No other vehicles were involved in the mishap and the driver, the lone occupant of a 2007 Pontiac, did not sustain any injuries.
Police closed a section of Mill Street, south of Union Street to Mountain Brow Road, until 10 p.m., Cst. Debbie McGreal-Dinning, media relations officer with the Hamilton Police Service, said Friday. Weather was a factor in the accident and no charges were laid, she added.
Police contacted the City of Hamilton and requested that a truck be sent to the area to salt and sand the road, the constable said.
