Storage Wars at Flamboro

When storage lockers are abandoned, their contents are put up for auction. This premise has caught the attention of many A&E viewers – so much so that Storage Wars has become the television network’s top rated show in Canada.

This Saturday (Sept. 22), Storage Wars fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with two of the series’ stars in their first Canadian appearance, set to take place at the OLG Slots at Flamboro Downs.

Brandi and Jarrod Schulz’s trip to Flamborough coincides with the Hwy. 5 West entertainment facility’s newest promotion, Slots of Storage, which offers patrons the opportunity to cash in prizes until Sept. 30.

In addition to a $250 daily giveaway, 10 people will be chosen at random to qualify for the grand prize event. Of those selected, only three will have the chance to test their luck in the Super Locker Showdown, on Oct. 9.

“They will be selecting one of three lockers and whatever is behind that storage locker is what they win,” said Mark McSporran, customer relations manager at OLG Slots at Flamboro Downs, adding that up to $5,000 will be up for grabs.

Given the promotion’s theme, it was only fitting for the gaming facility to put a call out to the Storage Wars stars.

“Having them here at Flamboro is extremely exciting,” said McSporran. “They have fans all over Canada and we are hoping that many of them will be able to have the opportunity to meet them.”

Staff at Flamboro Slots are bracing for a large turnout on Sept. 22. “We are prepared for hundreds,” said the manager.

But fans will be ushered in to meet the cast members on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Between 1:30 and 3 p.m. Brandi and Jarrod will be on the gaming floor signing autographs. Patrons interested in meeting the pair must be 19 years or older and bring with them a valid piece of photo ID.

“We’ve had a lot of interest so far,” said McSporran. “Many people can’t believe that Brandi and Jarrod are actually coming here, which is great.”
