Three charged after RIDE stop

Three men are facing numerous charges after a RIDE lane stop in Waterdown on Sunday (Feb. 5) night.

Officers were conducting the RIDE program on Dundas Street at Mill Street at about 10:30 p.m. when they noticed a westbound vehicle perform a “sudden and evasive” turn onto Margaret Street. Police located the car parked on James Street. Three people were inside, along with open containers of alcohol and illegal drugs. Police arrested the trio and laid a variety of charges, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of marijuana and breach of probation.

The three accused, including a 24-year-old Burlington man, a 21-year-old Burlington man and a 21-year-old Flamborough man, were released on a promise to appear bond.
