Flamborough Seniors: Weigh in on programming

Shelley Scott, executive director, Flamborough Information and Community Services

Flamborough residents are invited to weigh in on local programming.

On Thursday, Dec. 6, City of Hamilton and Hamilton Public Library staff, as well as Ward 15 councillor Judi Partridge, will be on hand to consult with seniors about social and recreational activities.

This is your chance to come out and voice your opinion on what type of programming you would like to enjoy in Flamborough.

The new Hamilton Public Library, Waterdown Branch and Civic Centre will feature recreational space, which will be available for social and recreational activities for seniors.

The meeting runs from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church in Waterdown (80 Mill St. North).

***********

The Seniors Bridge has relocated from the Rotary Gardens to Sealey Park (115 Main St. South, Waterdown). The group meets Thursdays from 1 until 4 p.m.. Come out and join.

The Waterdown Seniors Social Club would like to thank everyone that supported their Christmas Bazaar. Everyone worked so hard in the spirit of Christmas and giving. The proceeds from this year’s bazaar will boost the United Way of Greater Hamilton and Burlington, as they, in turn, help to support the seniors’ programming in Flamborough.

Christmas Connection

When in the holiday giving mood, please think of the seniors, who are not as fortunate as you. The Flamborough Review is partnering with Flamborough Information and Community Services to collect donations and gifts for seniors.

You may also drop off your donation or gift at the Review office, located at 30 Main St. North, Waterdown, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, local residents interested in becoming a Secret Santa for a local senior, or wanting more information about Christmas Connection, can call Flamborough Information and Community Services at 905-689-7880.
