Letter to the Editor: Donations keep others warm

 Dear  Editor:

The Strabane Women’s Institute would like to thank the members of our community for all their support.

We have asked for volunteer knitters and the response from the community has been great. We have received lots of hand-knitted mittens, hats and blocks for our blankets.

We donate the blankets to the Salvation Army for distribution to people who need them. The mittens and hats are distributed to Helping Hands Street Mission to be given out to those who require them. There is still a great need for adult mittens, as more people knit the mittens for children.

We are grateful to those who donate wool, and to the knitters who create the mittens, hats and blocks. Without the support of the community we would not be able to help others. Thank you for helping to keep others in our community warm this season.
