Thieves target ATVs in rural Flamborough

Stolen Autos/ Theft from Autos

• A vehicle stolen from the Waterloo area was located in the parking lot at Flamboro Slots on September 23.

• A black 2004 Dodge was stolen from a Kildonan Crescent residence overnight on September 23.

• Thieves targeted ATVs in the rural area on September 23. A 5th Concession resident reported their 2006 Polaris ATV stolen from their driveway sometime during the night, and a Hwy. 97 resident reported their Honda ATV taken from their barn. OPP officers from Brant County recovered both vehicles shortly after and arrested a suspect in their jurisdiction.

• Emergency Services responded to Foreman Road where a GMC pickup truck was engulfed in flames on September 23. Police learned that the vehicle had been stolen from Guelph.

• Thieves stole a 2000 Dodge Caravan from the common area of a Waterdown townhouse complex sometime during the day on September 25.

• Several vehicles on Karsh Crescent were entered overnight on September 26 but it appears nothing was stolen.

Other Incidents

• Police responded to a group home on September 22 after two residents became involved in an altercation.

• Witnesses observed a youth damaging a sign at a Dundas Street business with a rock on September 22. Three youths were interviewed by police and their parents agreed to pay restitution for the sign. The youths were placed in a diversion program.

• Police responded to a family trouble call in Waterdown between a mother and son on September 22. The son was apprehended and taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for an assessment. While at the hospital, the youth assaulted police and was taken to Central Station for a bail hearing.

• A Waterdown business reported trouble with a local youth on September 22. The youth was identified and police issued a trespass warning.

• Loss prevention officers at a Flamborough Power Centre business arrested a shoplifter on September 23. The 28-year-old female was charged with theft and all property was recovered.

• A 5th Concession property owner called police after finding property in the bush on September 23.

• Police responded to a non-injury collision at Carlisle Road and Hwy. 6 on September 23.

• Police responded to a 5th Concession home to assist with family trouble between a father and son on September 23. One party was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for assessment.

• Police responded to a Flamborough business on September 24, after an ex-employee posted remarks on a social networking site.

• A group home resident was arrested for assaulting an employee at the facility on September 24. The youth was taken to Central Station for a bail hearing.

• A relative looking after a Greensville area home while the owners were away visited the property on September 25 and found a door open. Police found the house to be secure and nothing had been stolen.

• Suspects damaged vehicles parked at a 6th Concession home as well as a security light on the property, on September 26

• A Waterdown resident called Operation Lookout while following a suspected impaired driver on September 27. The vehicle was eventually stopped on Centre Road and the driver was arrested.

Car seat inspections will be held in Waterdown on Friday, November 14 from 9:30 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. Participants must book an appointment through Health Connections, 905- 546-3550. Walk-ins will not be accommodated.
