A Waterloo man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act following a tragic traffic collision at the 5th Concession Road West and Westover Road.
Careless driving charges were laid against 35-year-old Jeffrey Durnin on May 8, the same day Andrew Parliament was laid to rest, following a police investigation into the collision that cost the Beverly Central School student his life.
Durnin was on his way home after an afternoon at Flamboro Speedway with his three children when police allege he continued through the intersection, t-boning the Parliament family car.
The Grade 2 student was in the vehicle with his mother and his 14-year-old brother. Andrew was transported to McMaster Children's Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
