
There were some exceptional scores on the course owned by the Forth family, also well known in the Copetown area as successful broccoli farmers.
In the tyke division for young golfers (11 and under), Rockwood's Brendan Sharpe won with a round of 103. Close behind was first year player Liam Rooney of Oakville with a 105. Also from Oakville, Bradley Currier finished third at 107.
Kitchener's Keaton Jones won the bantam division with a score of 83, while second place went to Guelph's Jeff Degroote with an 87. First-year bantam Charlie Corner of Cayuga finished third with a score of 88.
There was a two-way tie for first place in the juvenile division, between Guelph's Amin Ashkar and Milton's Jeff Clarke. Both golfers carded a great round of 73. Third place went to Oakville's William Mahood, who shot a 79.
The top junior for the day was Erin's Shane Longstreet with a 77. Cambridge's James Pemberton shot a 78 to earn second place. Third place was taken by Guelph's Joey Hingston with a score of 80.
In the junior girls' division, Burlington's Meagan Rutter topped the field with a score of 84, followed by Guelph's Jessica Keating, who shot 88. Carly Shane, a third-year tour member from Waterloo, finished third with 93.
On the adult side, the low gross for the day was Brampton's Brian Robson with a score of 74.
With all scores stableford adjusted, flight winners include:
'A' Flight: Brian Robson-Brampton-69; David Everest-Oakville-70; Dan Pound-Mississauga-72.
'B' Flight: Dave Clarke-Milton-65; Terry Sinclair-Ayr-67; Jim Morley-Oakville-68.
'C' Flight: Jeff Lofft-Burlington-67; Kelly Horkoff-Oakville-81; Mike Palkovic-Mississauga-86.
The BITE Shoe Closest to the Pin winner for the day was Charlie Corner of Cayuga while the Sundog Long Drive winners were Ben Shane of Waterloo and Brad Currier of Oakville.
