
Ellis named Player of the Week
Defenseman nets five points in three games

Freelton defenseman Ryan Ellis was named this week’s Player of the Week by the Windsor Spitfires, after opening the month with five points in three games.
Ellis scored one goal in the Spitfires’ 5-1 win against Peterborough on October 2. The following night, he scored again and added two assists en route to being named the First Star in the Spitfires’ 4-1 victory over the Oshawa Generals. He rounded out the week by recording one assist in the Spitfires’ 4-2 loss to the Barrie Colts on October 4.
After seven games, the 17-year-old leads all Ontario Hockey League defensemen in goals scored (five) and in points (11). He is third overall, behind teammate Taylor Hall, who has 12 points and John Tavares of the Oshawa Generals, who is in first place with 16 points.
