On Sunday, February 28, Danielle Hayes of Carlisle posted the women’s fastest time of the day at the Alpine Ontario South Tier I Giant Slalom Final at Beaver Valley.

This was the third gold medal in as many weeks for the Waterdown District High School student.

On Sunday, February 14 at the last race of the regular season for the Milton Heights Racing Club J Miele Red Team, Danielle won the Slalom Race, also at Beaver Valley.

This victory ensured her team from MHRC advanced to Tier I Semi Finals as the top seeded team.

There were 30 teams from around southern Ontario and 12 advanced to the Tier 1 Semi Final.  One week later, the MHRC Red Team advanced to the Tier I Finals after a convincing victory at Kimberley Ski Club in which Danielle was the fastest female for the day in the Slalom Race.

Other local athletes contributing to this championship for Milton were Andre Charbonneau and Tyler Walter of Campbellville and Chloe Schleichkorn and Darcy Smith of Burlington.
This is the third championship in the past five years for the MHRC Red Team and the second for Danielle Hayes.

The Milton Heights Racing Club offers a variety of racing programs at Glen Eden with more than a dozen racers from Flamborough participating in these programs that begin with dryland training in the fall and run for eight weeks in the winter.
