TOURNAMENT CHAMPS: The Beverly Bandits atom hockey team celebrates a first-place finish at the recent Cayuga Minor Hockey Association tournament.

Bandits steal the show

The Beverly Bandits atoms were golden at the recent tournament hosted by the Cayuga Minor Hockey Association.

Eight teams from the surrounding area, including two Cayuga teams, participated in the event, which took place on Saturday, January 14.

In game one, Beverly defeated Port Colborne by a score of 3-2. Lucas Bezemer scored two of the Beverly goals, assisted by Jacob Wilson both times.

Wilson, assisted by Emily Jones, also got a marker of his own.

The Bandits next beat Dunnville, 5-4.

Bezemer continued his scoring streak with four goals and an assist on a goal by Wilson. Trevor Clark also recorded an assist in the win.

In their third game, the Bandits topped West Lincoln 5-3.

Wilson was the top scorer for Beverly with three, and Bezemer added two goals and picked up an assist. Jones also recorded an assist in the win.
