Novice 1 Falcons hit the streets, sing in support of food bank

On Friday evening Dec. 14, the Flamborough Girls’ Hockey Association (FGHA) novice 1 Falcons went door-to-door carolling in Carlisle in support of the Flamborough Food Bank.

The 14 little angels, including Olivia Ahing, Julia Bowles, Danica Broz, Cara D’Angela, Mia Dyment, Sarah Fletcher, Emma Gallagher, Hayley Hood, Hailey MacDougall, Amanda Paci, Natalie Paci, Alisha Plaunt, Rachel Poulton, Madelyn Thomas, accompanied by their parents, grandparents and the team’s coaching staff, were pleased with the evening’s outcome.

The group collected a van full of food along with monetary donations, which will be donated to the local food bank.

In other FGHA news, coach Dan Bednis was happy to announce that the association will be hosting its first girls’ tournament Feb. 1-3, 2013, and encouraged everyone to come out and see what “girls” hockey is all about.
