Editorial: Back in the middle of the last century, those who wished to enjoy a game of chance were limited in their choice of activities. Aside from bingo halls and lotteries, one of the few legal gambling avenues for Ontarians was horse racing. In Flamborough, the sport took root in the form of harness racing - at its height, Flamboro Downs advertised 365 race days a year and ran a full boarding facility on its Hwy. 5 West grounds.
