Hamilton Fire seeks new recruits

The Hamilton Fire Department is looking for highly motivated men and women, who are dedicated to serving the needs of the community, to be a part of its team of firefighters.

In order to ensure that all applicants understand the required qualifications and the recruitment process, the service invites those interested to attend one of two scheduled career firefighter recruitment information meetings.

These meetings will provide applicants with the opportunity to hear from current firefighters about their profession and the steps they took to become a firefighter in Hamilton.

The first information meeting is scheduled for tonight, Thursday, Jan. 24, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Sir John A. MacDonald High School, 130 York Blvd. The second session is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Multi-Agency Training Centre, Building C – Indoor  Training Complex, 1227 Stone Church Rd. East (at Nebo Road).

In addition to firefighters who have recently graduated from the recruit training program, past training instructors and senior management staff from the department will be on hand to provide information on the 2013 recruitment process.

Additional information can be found at  www.hamilton.ca/fire.
