Motorcycle Springshow this weekend at International Centre

The Motorcycle Springshow 2016 presented by Riders Plus Insurance rolls into the International Centre this weekend (April 9-10) with a full slate of new and used bikes, motorcycle gear and accessories just in time for the riding season.

For the first time, Springshow 2016 will offer the chance for anyone to learn to ride a motorcycle.

Under the guidance of professional instructors from Learning Curves, first-time riders can “Get Your Feet Wet” and learn to ride a Honda GROM motorcycle (weather permitting). 

Fans of the Sons of Anarchy TV series can meet Kim Coates, the actor who portrayed “Tig” in the series. Back by popular demand, SOA fans will have the opportunity to ask questions, take photos and get autographs with Coates on Saturday and Sunday.

Some other Springshow 2016 features include:

• Huge motorcycle dealer displays including Harley Davidson, Honda, BMW, Victory, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Indian, Vespa, Moto Guzzi and Yamaha motorcycles.

• Never-seen-before Custom Showbikes from the best builders in the East will compete for $20,000 in cash prizes.

• Bikes of the Century Exhibit showcasing classic and vintage motorcycles.

• Canadian Super Bike Series autograph sessions and giveaways.

• The Racing Stars of Tomorrow featuring young talent in MX, Flat-Tracking, Road Racing and Off Road.

• The Live Honda Mini-Bike Stunt Show.

• Women in Motorcycling, an eclectic group who share a passion for the open road.

• The Pickers Market where you can pick up hard-to-find vintage bike parts.

• The Used Bike Clearance Sale for bargains on your dream bike.

• Booths for more than 40 bike clubs and associations.

• Meet Trevor Daley, Canadian Super Bike Racer and Custom Bike Builder.

• The Editors Choice Awards (Eddy’s) will honour some of Canada’s most incredible riders and their contributions to their communities.

• Meet this year’s Motorcyclist of the Year Award winner and Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Famer, Warren Thaxter.

Adult tickets are $18 at the door, kids 6 and under are free, and youths 7 to 12 are $5.

Advance tickets can be purchased online. Coupons for $2 off show admission are also available.

Saturday is Family Night. After 5 pm your $2 coupon doubles in value, saving $4 on an adult admission while youths 12 and under will be free.

Admission includes free parking, a copy of Spring Motorcycle Magazine, and a ballot for a chance to win a 2015 DRZ 125L Suzuki motorcycle from Suzuki of Newmarket.
