The new redesigned 2021 Audi S3 Sportback and Sedan have grown in size, character and power from its predecessor. Up front a new large single frame grille is positioned lower and is now painted in a matt black with aluminum inlays that match the large air intakes positioned either side.

The S3 also benefits from aluminum wing mirror housing, a more aggressive rear diffuser, side sills and a lower front apron. The extended wheel arches are accentuated by the pinched body lines that give a sportier and more muscular stance. The sedan has been stretched by four centimetres with the sportback gaining three centimetres in length both have been lowered by 15 millimetres adding to the more aggressive appearance.

Under the hood is a 2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission being made available in the S3 is a 7-speed automatic S tronic that can be controlled by the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Power from the engine and transmission is put down to the wheels through Audi’s clever quattro AWD system that can push up to 100 per cent of the power to the rear wheels when needed. A specially tuned suspension is standard with Audi’s S sport suspension with damper control being made available as an option.

Internally, a new compact shifter has been added with decorative aluminum inlays that mirror the shape of the headlights adding to the sportier feel and appearance. A 10.25-inch touch screen is standard with the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel being made available with the virtual cockpit option.

Newly designed sports seats have been added and are covered in a material that is largely made form recycled PET bottles and are accentuated by contrasting stitching.

The new S3 will accelerate from zero-100 km/h in an impressive 4.8 seconds while only sipping a combined fuel consumption of 7.4 L/100km. The 2021 Audi S3 will be made available in Canada towards the later part of 2021.

It’s not only the nimble little cars that have benefitted from an update of power and styling - both the SQ7 and SQ8 have a new powertrain that has is made up of a 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces a whopping 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission has been matched up that puts the power to all four wheels through Audi’s quattro permanent AWD system. Also added to the drivetrain is the 48-volt mild-hybrid system that not only aids with power when needed but helps conserve fuel as well. Both the SQ7 and SQ8 will reach 100km/h in 4.1 seconds and from 80 to 120km/h in a very impressive 3.8 seconds.

Both models will come with Audi’s adaptive air suspension with active dampers as standard, this allows up to 90mm of total suspension travel. Also available is the Dynamic Plus package that includes an electromechanical active roll stabilization (EAWS) module that makes the vehicle much more stable and flatter when cornering. Speed controlled all-wheel steering is also standard in both models.

The cabin benefits from leather and Alacantra upholstered sport seats that come complete with an embossed ‘S’ on the backrest. Matte brushed aluminium inlays add to the sporty interior and can be upgraded to either a carbon fibre finish or a high-gloss oak veneer. Also included are illuminated door sills with aluminum inlays with the ‘S’ logo.

An optional Sport Seat Plus is available that includes integrated head restraints and pneumatic adjustable side bolsters and are upholstered in top-quality Valcona leather enhanced with a rhombus pattern.

Differentiating between the SQ7 and SQ8 is made easy as the SQ7 fills the role of the more family-oriented SUV with a third row and more cargo capacity with seating for seven. The SQ8 is the sportier of the two with seating for five with more of a coupé appearance.

The SQ7 and SQ8 are now available to be configured on-line with delivery to dealerships happening within the next month or so.
