Warriors crank out win over OP

The Waterdown Warriors senior football team cranked out another victory over Orchard Park on Wednesday (September 21). The final score was 7-4, with the sole touchdown of the game scored by Mat Krizmanich.

According to WDHS coach Larry Timms, the offence moved the ball well, but took some penalties that hindered their effectiveness. On the other hand, the Warriors defence made several remarkable plays that set the tone for the game and ultimately sealed the triumph. Cameron Bellavia was singled out by Timms for his valuable pass interception, as was Tom Gooch for making a very critical touchdown-stopping tackle.

“It was war. Our guys went to war, and they won,” said Timms.

As a whole, the team played very well together, and is steadily gaining speed for its September 28 game against rival school Sir Allan MacNab.
