Bantam Fire girls win Fair Play award

Community Jul 30, 2012 Flamborough Review

The Flamborough Fire Bantam Girls Basketball team had an outstanding 2011-2012 rep season, competing in tournaments across Ontario and in the United States.

Throughout the season, the girls proved their skill and prowess were difficult to match and by the end of the year they found themselves ranked 15th provincially out of 56 teams.

Due to their hard work and sportsmanship all season long, the Fire was selected by the Ontario Basketball Association to be the recipients of the prestigious “Olympia Fair Play” award.

Winning this award gave all team members the opportunity to attend a free week at Olympia Sports Camp in Huntsville, where the girls brushed up on their basketball skills and had a great deal of fun. Coaches Jobina D’Aloisio and Paul Robertson are extremely proud of this talented and fearless group of young athletes.
