The Waterdown Wolves played alongside the best in Ontario, as bantam C teams from across the province arrived in town to play in the championship tournament throughout the Labour Day weekend.

After winning their opener against Thorold in Dundas on Friday night, the Wolves went on to beat Leamington on Saturday morning.

In the Saturday afternoon game against Corunna, however, the Waterdown team came up short, losing 17-12.

On Sunday, the Wolves were again matched with Leamington, and came away with a 10-0 win to move ahead and take on a strong team from  Corunna at Belmont Park.

The Corunna squad snagged a 17-8 win, but went on to lose in the final against Amherstberg, 9-5.

Amherstberg went undefeated throughout the double-knockout tourney, defeating Hanover 5-3 on Friday, Exeter 9-2, Corunna 8-4 on Saturday.

On Sunday, they went on to beat Corunna twice, 7-6 and 9-5, to clinch the provincial title.
