Rockton Lions Fred Cooper, Pat Evangelisto, Dave Hughes and Bill Hunter pose with Donald Schocal of Alberta and his vision dog (and new friend) Enzo, during a recent visit to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides facility in Oakville.

The local club raised $6,000 at the annual fish fry at the Beverly Community Centre last spring and used the money to once again sponsor a vision dog guide. Lions Foundation of Canada graduated 155 dogs last year through six programs: Canine Vision, Hearing Ear, Seizure Response, Special Skills, Autism Assistance and Diabetic Alert. The Oakville facility serves all of Canada.

The Rockton Lions’ 2014 fish fry takes place Saturday, June 7.
