Kirkwall Church celebrates 175 years

This fall will be a busy season for the Kirkwall Presbyterian Church.

The historic congregation is celebrating 175 years of worship, with a special Anniversary Service, Sunday, November 13.

The event will include an 11 a.m. service by Reverend Heather Vais, and a 7 p.m. service by Reverend Dr. Alan McPhearson, the past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Canada.

Worshippers are invited to stay after each service for special music by the Kirkwall Choir and light refreshments.

Kirkwall will also be holding its annual Scotch Supper next month.

This popular event will be held Wednesday, November 16. Sittings will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children 5-12. Preschoolers eat for free. Reservations are required.
