New Equine course offered at University of Guelph

News Nov 22, 2006 Flamborough Review

Equine Guelph and the Office of Open Learning at the University of Guelph have announced a new course, Equine Business Management, which will be launched in January 2006.

The course will focus on how to turn your passion for horses into a profitable business. Starting and running an equine enterprise is unique, because the horse industry has considerations not common to other small businesses, according to faculty. The online course teaches students to understand the scope of the equine industry and write a complete business plan, which can be used for both new and existing businesses.

The program will run from January 9 to April 12, 2006 and will cover topics from legal issues and business planning to marketing and developing a business image. Students will also profile a successful entrepreneur, develop a personal skills portfolio and discuss the industry with experienced experts.

This non-scientific course will not become part of the Equine Science Certificate.
