Tyke Select earns win from Burlington

The Flamborough Tyke Select Sabres traveled to Burlington to face off against the Eagles, and skated away with a big 4-3 win.

Liam Stevens led the way offensively with a hat trick. Great playmaking came from Jacob Gibbons and Andrew Leenders, who each had two assists. Jonathan Lawson also earned an assist. Justin Coles had a goal and assist.

Flamborough jumped out to an early three-goal lead, but that was short -lived as Burlington stormed back with two quick goals of its own, all scored in the first period.

The game remained at 3-2 for the entire second period with heart-stopping action at both ends of the rink. Flamborough pressed for another goal but the Burlington goalie stood fast.

Early in the third, Flamborough moved ahead 4-2, but Burlington came back 12 seconds later to make it 4-3.

Burlington pulled its goalie and Flamborough got a penalty in the final moments of the game.
