Carlisle Cares volunteers needed

News Nov 22, 2006 Flamborough Review

Carlisle Cares and Shares is gearing up for its 15th year of helping make the Christmas season special for area families in need, and the group is hoping to extend its reach into the community.

In recent years, canvassers have been able to cover the Flamborough Hills, Riverwalk, Fox Run, Applewood and Tuckaway neighbourhoods; this time around, they're aiming to make it to homes along Progreston Road as well. To do that, organizers are hoping more volunteers step forward to help out for a few hours on Saturday, November 26.

The drive for food items, gifts and cash donations kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle United Church. All proceeds are directed to the Flamborough Food Bank, Inasmuch House, Wesley Urban Ministries and the Salvation Army.

Those who wish to help out during this year's holiday drive are asked to call Helen McClymont at 905-689-5981 or Marilyn Hay at 905-689-8429.
