Track star beats record

News Apr 04, 2007 Flamborough Review

Christian Brennan, Grade 6 student at Guardian Angel, is keeping right on track as she keeps bettering her own record times meet after meet.

Brennan was originally featured in the December 29 issue of the Review, where it was reported that during the 400-metre race at the International youth Meet of Champions she placed in first, taking home a gold medal, and beating a record set by track and field star Aimee Teteris set in 1990.

In February, Brennan competed at the Bullets Indoor Games and clocked in at 1:02:26, beating her December record.

On March 24, Brennan attended the Provincial Indoor Championships Track and Field Meet held at the Toronto Track and Field Centre at York University. She ranked first in two events, the long jump and the 400-metre dash.

At this most recent event, Brennan clocked in at 1:01:59, not only beating her February record time for the 400-metre dash, but also winning over the record set by Kelly Walters in 1989.

Brennan, of Waterdown, represents the Burlington Track & Field Club and trains twice weekly.
