55 Alive help drivers behind the wheel

News Mar 06, 2008 Flamborough Review

There is never a bad time to update your driving skills - even if you haven't been involved in a collision in 40 years.

The 55 Alive Driver Refresher Course is designed to help Canadians 55 years and over to maintain their independence and their driving privileges, by helping drivers gain confidence behind the wheel, improve awareness, update participants on traffic laws and provide a forum for drivers to voice their concerns in a friendly, relaxed environment.

The course will also help prepare senior drivers for the examination drivers over 80 are obligated to write in order to maintain their license.

Instructors recruited by the Canada Safety Council conduct each 55 Alive course. The six-hour class will be given in two sessions and offered by Flamborough Information and Community Services (FICS) in the Flamborough Municipal Service Centre in Waterdown.

The course will take place March 31 and April 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 plus $13 for the workbook.

For more information or to book space for the course call FICS at 905-689-7880.
