Visitors at Westfield Heritage Village in coming weeks will be treated to the park's holiday programme, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.

The history and traditions of the season will take centre stage, as guests take a self-guided lantern tour, explore the buildings decorated in their holiday best, and meet the people of the village as they celebrate Christmas at Westfield. Visitors will go back in time experience the evolution of the Yuletide season through the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and World War I eras.

This year's event includes performances of favourite Christmas stories and musical entertainment featuring groups such as St. George Promusica, community choirs, the Galt Kiltie Band, Salvation Army Band and many others. See the schedule at www.westfieldheritage.ca for more details.

In addition, horse and wagon rides will wind through the village, there will be contests and prizes and treats, such as hot apple cider, popcorn and Tim Hortons donuts, are tucked around every corner

The gift shop - full of one-of-a-kind gift items - will be open for business, and meals will be available in the Ironwood Tearoom.

Programme admission is $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors and $4.50 for children aged six to 12. Children aged 5 and under get in for free.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas takes place Saturday, December 3, 10 and 17 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Opening ceremonies will take place at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a visit from Father Christmas and a fireworks display.
