Carlisle Library: here we go again

News May 08, 2008 Flamborough Review

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, the Hamilton-Wentworth Library Board decided that the Carlisle Library, housed in Memorial Hall, was too small to serve the needs of a growing Carlisle. Their solution was to close the library and send all the library users elsewhere.

Does this sound familiar yet?

The people of Carlisle and area fought long and loud. Finally, the library board offered a temporary solution: a portable structure would house the library until a larger permanent building could be built.

As everyone knows, this never happened.

Once again, the library board has decided that the Carlisle Library has out-lived its building and that the best option (in their opinion) is to close it.

Here we go again.
