News Jun 19, 2008 Flamborough Review

Despite playing a great game with excellent offensive and defensive manoeuvres, the Scotiabank MJU9 Flamborough Flames girls wrapped up May with a heartbreaking loss against the Hamilton Spartans at Mountview.

Throughout the action-packed game, the girls displayed strong teamwork and put to good use the skills they have been learning and developing during their practices.

The Flames bounced back the following week (June 3), with a big 8-2 win at home, against Stoney Creek.

It was another action-packed game, with most of the activity occurring in Stoney Creek's end. Within the first two minutes, Lindsay Bosveld scored Flamborough's first goal - her first of three in the game.

Great passing skills and teamwork set up the Flames' third goal by Jessica Santini and the fourth goal by Meagan Dunne. Goalie Emily Moffat was fearless and did an outstanding job in net. Dunne, Brittany Bouteiller and Olivia Baker scored Flamborough's remaining goals.
