After six qualifying divisions, the $60,400 Holiday Pacing Series Final came to a thrilling end New Year's Day at Flamboro Downs.

Don Graham drove home the winner, Forrest Rhythm, in 1:57 flat to claim victory for owners Larry and John Todd of Oakwood, Ontario.

Graham took advantage of the early pacing speed - just 28 seconds at the quarter mile, to push Forrest Rhythm from behind down the home stretch to nip Fit for Glory at the wire. The winner paid $102.50. Fit for Glory, driven by Mark MacDonald, claimed second, while Mr. Delite and Jack Moiseyev finished third.

The race, however, was not without disappointment for Jody Jamieson and Mr. Domi. Seated back in the nine-hole, Mr. Domi was ruled interfered with by Windsun Fire N Ice at the beginning of the race. Mr. Domi finished eighth.

Live harness racing continues all this week at Flamboro Downs Wednesday through Sunday at 4 p.m.

Flamboro downs is located on Hwy. 5 in Flamborough.
