The Ministry of Labour is currently investigating an incident at a Flamborough horse training facility after a 64-year-old man was fatally injured Sunday morning.

According to Sergeant Terri-Lynn Collings, media relations officer with the Hamilton Police Service, police, fire and ambulance crews responded to Victory Lane Farms in Millgrove at approximately 10 a. m. on Sunday after a man was kicked by a horse.

“We got a call for a male who had appeared to be kicked by a horse. As a result he succumbed to his injuries. He collapsed at the scene,” said Collings.

The Stoney Creek man was found at Victory Lane Farms with no vital signs. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The Ministry of Labour was contacted. We weren’t sure if he was an employee there or if he had a horse he was working with, but again the ministry is investigating that aspect of it,” explained Collings.

The next of kin was notified and requested the man’s name be withheld.
