AA Sabres outplay Rangers

The Flamborough Novice AA Sabres, sponsored by Picard’s Peanuts, continued their strong play after coming a close second in the Pittsburgh Viper Tournament.

The Sabres recorded convincing victories over St. Catharines and Guelph and prevailed in a tense, penalty-filled game in Milton.

On Friday, the Sabres hosted the Oakville Rangers in a repeat of an early season match that the Rangers had stolen from under the Sabres’ noses. With that memory fresh in their minds, the Sabres were determined to regain the edge on their close rivals. The teams exchanged goals and hits time and again.

Ultimately, the superior firepower of the Sabres helped secure a 4-3 victory. On the weekend, the Sabres also battled the Caledonia Thunder in an exhibition match.

The Sabres squeaked out a 3-2 victory in a thrilling end-to-end contest.
