Come clean for a good cause next weekend

News Jun 10, 2010 Flamborough Review

The Waterdown volunteer firefighters are holding their third annual car wash next Saturday (June 19).

The event will raise funds for Tucker Patterson, a three-year-old Waterdown boy who has Leigh’s disease, a fatal disorder characterized by degeneration of the central nervous system.

Doug Leach, a lieutenant with Waterdown’s volunteer firefighters, said proceeds of the car wash will be donated to the Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, from which Tucker’s parents, Kari and Dave Patterson, can draw funds for special equipment needed for their son’s care. Dave Patterson is a volunteer firefighter for Waterdown.

The car wash will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Waterdown firehall on Parkside Drive. There will be no set fee for a wash, but a free-will donation will be welcomed.
