Voters in the Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale (ADFW) riding, stand up and take a bow. With 62,693 of the riding's 80,842 registered electors casting a ballot during Monday's federal election, the riding recorded an admirable voter turnout of 77.6 per cent - possibly one of the highest in Canada.

The writing was on the wall even before election day, with advance polls in the riding drawing 8,856 people, up 2,243 from the previous federal election in 2004.

ADFW boasted a 69.5 per cent voter turnout in 2004, significantly higher than the national average of 60.9 per cent, the lowest voter turnout percentage since 1896.
