Boonstra's coat drive on now

News Oct 28, 2010 Flamborough Review

For the past five years, Boonstra’s One Hour Heating has been providing warmth for the community in more than just one way.

The Clappison’s Corners company’s annual coat drive collects children’s coats and gently-used outerwear for teens an adults in need.

Boonstra’s donates all the coats they collect to Helping Hands, a local charity that aids families in need, or the Salvation Army. Last year, Boonsta’s received  hundreds of coats.

“We had a roomful of them,”said Debbie Irvine, marketing manager of Boonstra’s. “Thank you to the Waterdown community for their generosity and support of our coat drive. We’re looking forward to another great year to provide warmth, and to exceed our own expectations.”

Those who wish to donate can visit the Hwy. 5 West office, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the month of November. In addition, volunteers will be walking the route at the Flamborough Santa Claus parade in Waterdown on Saturday, November 23 to accept donations.
